NFPA’s Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFV) Safety Training Program provides tools and information that U.S. firefighters as well as other emergency responders need to safely handle emergency situations involving AFVs.
Alternative Fuel Vehicles Safety Training Program
This course provides response training to first responders for incidents involving alternative fuel vehicles including electric, hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, bio-diesel and gaseous fuels such as CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), LPG (Liquid Propane Gas), and their recharging/refueling stations. The course utilizes videos, animations, simulations, data review questions, scenario rooms, and 3D Interactive environments in order to engage responders as they move though the training. The coursework is fully customizable, allowing the responder to pick and choose which content they want to learn, and the Learning Management System allows the training to be started and stopped at any time, picking up where it paused at any future time.
